PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

As a Linguistics major with interdisciplinary expertise, I specialise in collecting and analysing language-based data to uncover patterns and inform evidence-based conclusions. My research journey has progressed from investigating language contact phenomena to a focused engagement with language assessment policies, practices, and the design of high-stakes testing. I maintain a strong interest in equity within education and apply a diverse set of analytical, mathematical, and technical skills to evaluate and improve assessment systems.

My research interests include Psychometrics—particularly Item Response Theory (IRT), Classical Test Theory (CTT), and Rasch Models, as well as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Inferential Statistics, and Test Data Analysis. In the field of NLP, I am particularly interested in its applications in educational assessment, automated error analysis, and the development of linguistically informed language technologies. I am also engaged in translation studies, with a focus on the intersection of computational linguistics and multilingual communication, including the application of NLP models to enhance the accuracy and cultural sensitivity of Machine Translation Systems (MTS).
